Work information
A requiem for women's choir. The composition creates a mystical effect through its long phrases, immersing the listener in a reverent silence that invites remembrance of deceased loved ones, friends, and acquaintances, as well as tragic events.
The requiem was created for the open-air theater production 'Bauernkrieg 1653', in 2003, in commemoration of the armed conflict in Switzerland between the peasants and the authoritarian rule of the cities. The fact that the requiem was written for a women's choir expresses that often women are the ones who suffer the most as survivors.
